New Driver Recruitment

Brisbane Transport follow detailed recruitment process when hiring new drivers which includes but not limited to checking and confirming:

  • Driving history

  • Criminal history

  • Medical fitness

  • Employment record

Once the applicant pass initial assessment, they are required to undertake a mandatory driver induction with the qualified assessor which includes training and assessment of:

  • Basic load restraining

  • Chain of responsibility

  • Fatigue Management

  • Health and safety

  • Introduction to the DG Movers fleet of vehicles

After successful completion of induction, drivers are required to work under the supervision of another driver for one week or till the other driver is satisfied with the demonstration of safe driving techniques.

Safety of Drivers and Equipment

To ensure the safety of our drivers, other road users, equipment and other people involved with the loading and unloading, we have range of safety measures in place including:

  • Mandatory pre-check before driving the vehicle to ensure the vehicle is safe to drive

  • Regular driver refresher training

  • Speed limiter

  • GPS tracking

  • Regular vehicle maintenance

  • Our latest trucks are fitted with range of safety equipment such as lane departure warning, active brake assist and proximity control assist, driver fatigue monitoring devices and camera system.

Compliance

All our drivers and vehicles comply with the regulations of NHVR and all states and territories. Our vehicles are regularly serviced by approved technicians and visit the relevant authorities for inspections. All drivers are required to monitor their fatigue and we maintain digital register of driver shifts and hours to ensure the compliance with NHVR driving hours.
